After spotting my Tea Patterns project, food and drink agency LUX asked me to produce the illustrations for a tasty new treat they were developing with Bruce Farms. Podberry’s crunchy pea snacks are made with real peas which have been freeze-dried, locking in all of their green goodness and nutrients.
The logo and typographic style had already been decided, meaning that this was a rare project where I worked solely on the illustrations.
The first two flavours to launch were Sweet Chilli Peas and Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar Peas. I drew bright chillies and glossy balsamic drops nestled within patterns of flowing pea shoots, pods and leaves. That summer we were growing peas in the garden, allowing me to conduct research close to home.
Ham Hock Peas and Parmesan & Truffle Peas launched a year later, allowing me to develop more designs.
Digital artwork for the first two packs. These deliberately maintain a very limited colour palette.
